Mitch Gibson
Mitch Gibson started in insurance the same way most people did: licensed, cold
calling, figuring things out as he went. What he noticed early on was that the
producers pulling ahead weren't working harder. They had better systems, and they
knew which technology was actually worth their time. That realization shaped
everything he's done since.
Today, Mitch serves as CTO of Virtual Intelligence, a 120-person company that trains
and places virtual employees inside independent agencies across the country. He’s
also the co-founder of NexAgency and CTO of The Insurance Alliance, a four
location agency in Illinois and Indiana. Most people in the InsurTech conversation are
either selling something or studying it from the outside. Mitch is operating inside it
every day, with real agencies, real consequences.
He co-founded the IndieTech Experience and hosts the MVP Podcast on the Agency
Intelligence Network, where he's spent years in conversation with the producers
and agency owners, figuring this out in the field.
His take hasn't changed much: the agencies struggling aren't missing the right tools.
They're missing the foundation that makes tools worth buying. That's the
conversation he brings to every stage — not a pitch for the next platform, but an
honest look at what it actually takes to build something that works and sticks.
At home in Greenfield, Indiana, he's husband to Cailee and dad to two beautiful
daughters, and when he's not doing any of the above, he's coaching high school
varsity baseball. Which, if you spend five minutes talking to him, all of it makes
complete sense.
